Biotin forms a covalent bond to the following carboxylase enzymes: pyruvate carboxylase, for glucose metabolism; acetyl CoA carboxylase, for fatty acid oxidation; and propinonyl-CoA carboxylase and B-methylcrotonyl-CoA carboxylate, for amino acid metabolism.
